What is a CSA?

Community-Shared/Supported Agriculture facilitates a connection between farmers and the surrounding community using a weekly subscription model. You make a financial commitment early in the season and receive a share from our diversified mixed vegetable garden every week from June to October (18 weeks). With this you also receive more bang for your buck with added value in every share! This is a great opportunity to eat in season, support local farms, and a chance for us to restore the connection between people and where our food comes from in a sustainable way. The CSA model provides farmers with an equitable return for their skill, knowledge and labour; and establishes a strong foundation for sustainable agriculture all the while contributing to a healthier ecology. This system was created by Dr. Booker T. Whatley ; along with popular movements like “pick-your-own” and “farm-to-table” as he bridged the gap of social justice and organic agriculture. In his own words a CSA “enables farmers to plan production, anticipate demand and have a guaranteed market.” Our CSA members receive a curated farm share by the farmers themselves.

Testimonials

“Being a member of Foragers Farm CSA is the most connecting, rewarding, and delicious way to support a local business. Their produce is the best I’ve tried, and you can literally FEEL the love in everything they offer! Erin and Tyler’s dedication to the land, and genuine passion for agricultural practices that go beyond sustainability, is evident in everything they touch, from the soil they cultivate, to the vibrancy of their vegetables. My heart is full of gratitude for them!“

– Sarah Britton of My New Roots, 3 years as CSA member

Not only are Tyler and Erin some of the loveliest and coolest people I know, they also grow some amazing vegetables. I truly, strongly believe that supporting local food systems is critical right now. As is knowing that you have a source of beautiful organic, local vegetables lined up for the future. It’s always fun to open your bag each week and see what you got, and then maybe learning about new produce and how to use it.”
-Sarah Brimson, 3 years as CSA member

“We’ve been doing the CSA for a couple years now, and it’s always a highlight of our week! The food is fresh and delicious, the variety is wonderful, and the staff are always friendly. We love having this opportunity to support local farms and enjoy what this area has to offer.”

-Brandy and Peter, 3 years as CSA members

“Erin and Tyler have been providing delicious, high quality, and a reliable VARIETY of foods for a number of years now. I am never disappointed with the seasonal selections and flexible way they offer their CSA. If you’re a regular market goer or a newcomer looking to buy into a steady supply of fresh fare, these are your farmers!”
-Matt Dutry, 2 years as CSA member
